Pumpkin Picking at Church View Farm

Church view farm is a family run farm and shop that grows and sells fresh fruit and vegetables, at this time of year they have over 5000 fresh Pumpkins. The farm is situated opposite St Thomas church and less than half a mile from the scotch piper pub which is the oldest inn in Lancashire, in close proximity to from farmer teds.

A day out with the kids

So like many mums this is my first half term since my eldest Jude started school in September. After looking at many pumpkin picking locations I decided to try somewhere local to us. Church view farm is a lovely homely farm, its perfect and small and a lot less busy than some other locations. With my giggling daughter in a wheel barrow and Jude running around like a loon, we headed out to choose some pumpkins. The fields here are filled with a sea of orange pumpkins. There are all kinds, shapes and sizes. We managed to collect four decent size pumpkins, and I managed to get some rare family photographs of my own children enjoying the experience. Who needs a buggy when you have a decent size wheel barrow! This was my first time picking pumpkins, and it was fab day out with my children. There was also popcorn, ice-cream, sweets and hot drinks available. My own tips for a day out at the pumpkin farm...

1. Wear wellies (not white converse)

2. Be prepared to carry some weight Pumpkins are heavy

3. Remove dummy's before taking photographs of your baby

4. Have Fun!
